John’s story - implant treatment

It always happens when on holiday, or away from home, and true to form, just three days into a fortnight’s holiday in Spain, those nasty little signs of tooth ache started.

The source of the problem - a capped upper incisor, which also felt a bit loose, had sustained a root fracture.

On return home, I sought advice from Heather about the options for dealing with it, and decided that an implant was most suitable.

With hindsight, what a good decision this was, because I have no fear or reservations about eating or cleaning my teeth.  In fact the implant tooth is no different from any other teeth.

Although initially a little apprehensive about the surgery, I can honestly say it was very straightforward under local anaesthetic, with little discomfort afterwards.  The only thing I noticed was the firmness of this tooth compared to the natural ones when it was first fitted.  But even this became unnoticeable within a short period.
